As the nation's largest rheumatology specialty group with 20+ practices across 7 states, AHG provides access to best business practices, advisory and management services, and value-based treatment pathways.Please visit our website at for more information.The Position:The Controller is a senior management role that oversees the financial operations including financial reporting, compliance with GAAP and forecasting.As Controller, a typical day might look like:Assisting in formulating and administering approved general accounting practices and policies for the organization as well as analyzes and interprets data and develops reports to executive management reflecting internal economic conditions and trends; implementing a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk; implementing controls around expense management to minimize risk.Completing successful monthly and annual close process; assisting in the oversight of accounts receivable, oversight of accounts payable, payroll and monthly reporting.Preparing forecasts, annual preparation of a budget, assisting with the preparation of annual tax returns and treasury administration.Coordinating the establishment of major schedules, task assignments and allocation of staff and equipment to ensure compliance with specified objectives, policies and deadlines through accountable management personnel.Planning and conducting meetings, education and other interactions with staff to facilitate compliance with established practices, to implement new policies and to keep employees aware of changes and current standards.Creating and implementing policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.Assisting in the oversight of Federal and State level cost report work papers and assist with audits.Preparing and reconciling monthly and annual audits as well as the review and recording of journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity.Preparing work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances as well as the monthly financial statements and related footnotes along with ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.Recommending benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.Managing physician compensation structure.Other duties as assigned.This job might be for you if:You have a Bachelors' Degree in finance, accounting, business or closely related discipline required.You have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the healthcare accounting and finance required.You have a minimum of three (3) years' specific leadership experience in the healthcare accounting and finance required.You demonstrate experience with revenue cycle management, managed care contracting, AP/AR, budgeting, audits & payroll.You should apply if:You have a Masters' Degree in finance, accounting, business or closely related discipline.You are a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant.Next Steps:Once you submit your application, a member of our Talent Acquisition Team will review your resume and application.
