Job Description Key Responsibilities: \n \n Perform abrasive blasting and coating on ship components, ensuring all work meets or exceeds MIL-SPEC standards. \n Operate and maintain commercial blast and coat booths, including setup, routine maintenance, and thorough cleanup. \n Lead and mentor support staff, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. \n Manage consumable usage, proactively replacing materials at optimal intervals to control cost without compromising quality. \n Achieve consistent blast and coating quality, delivering technically sound and aesthetically pleasing finishes. \n Accurately interpret and apply MIL-SPEC and customer specifications. \n Maintain clear and accurate records of work performed, inspections, and equipment maintenance. \n Support a clean, organized work environment, following 5S standards. \n Expertly use precision measurement tools, including: Psychrometers, Surface profile gauges, Dry Film Thickness (DFT) gauges, Pyrometers and surface thermometers, Manometers and magnehelic gauges \n \n Shift & Training Details : \n \n This position will train on 1st shift for several weeks. \n Once fully trained, the role will transition to 2nd shift. \n Excellent attendance is critical—reliability and punctuality are essential to team success and production flow. \n \n Qualifications: \n \n Prior experience in industrial or marine blasting and painting, particularly within a commercial blast/coat booth environment. \n Deep working knowledge of MIL-SPEC coating processes and requirements. \n Skilled in the operation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of blast and paint equipment. \n Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support assistant staff. \n High attention to detail with a strong sense of craftsmanship and finish quality. \n Solid organizational habits and a proven record of accurate documentation. \n Must have reliable personal transportation. \n \n Additional Guidelines \n Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility requirements to be considered for employment: \n \n 18 years of age or older at time of application \n Able to provide proof of US Person Status \n No felony convictions of theft/deception or violent crimes within seven (7) years from disposition date \n No felony convictions of drug crimes within three (3) years from disposition date \n Willing to submit to a drug screen and background check \n \n Benefits : \n \n 401(k) \n 401(k) matching \n Dental insurance \n Employee assistance program \n Health insurance \n Life insurance \n Paid time off \n Referral program \n Retirement plan \n Tuition reimbursement \n Vision insurance \n \n Why Join Advex? \n Join a dynamic team in a mission-critical defense manufacturing environment, where your leadership directly supports national security initiatives.
