Job Description \n \n \n \n The General Maintenance Technician will complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance to equipment and facilities in a safety-conscious and team-oriented environment. The candidate will need to have a general understanding of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and housekeeping of mechanical areas. \n \n Location: Gulfstream Facilities, Savannah, GA \n Pay: $18 – $27/hour \n The pay listed is the salary range for this position. For information about ABM’s benefits, visit ABM Team Member Benefits | Front Line Team Members \n \n \n Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. \n Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains. \n Complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and other equipment, systems or structures \n Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures. \n Performs routine HVAC filter changes. \n Completes assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance. \n Responsible for housekeeping of mechanical areas as well as other equipment, systems or structures. \n Willingness to Work at Various Heights: The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in elevated environments. This includes tasks that may require being at different heights for extended periods. \n Ladder Climbing: Regular climbing of ladders is a critical part of this position. The candidate must be capable of safely ascending and descending ladders of various sizes and types. \n Utilizing Various Lifts: Proficiency in operating a range of lifts is essential. This involves maneuvering scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other mechanical devices to reach higher areas. \n Perform other duties as assigned. \n \n \n Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements \n \n High School Diploma / GED \n 1-2 years commercial or industrial maintenance experience \n Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques. \n Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. \n Skill in using hand and power tools. \n Must be authorized to work in the US \n \n \n \n \n \n A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
