An opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to support diverse classrooms within a K-12 setting in Summerville, SC. This full-time, contract position runs through the current school year and offers the chance to engage with students across a range of needs, including those with intellectual disabilities and autism. Locations: - North Charleston area: Two positions available for Low Incidence Classroom and Intensive Developmental Support Classroom teachers - West Ashley area: Two positions available for Low Incidence Classroom and Intensive Developmental Support Classroom teachers - Liberty Hill Academy: One position available; ideal candidates will have experience working with intellectual disabilities and autism in a challenging classroom environment, supported by a teaching assistant, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and on-site BCBA. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver individualized instruction to students with a variety of disabilities, including behavior challenges and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Collaborate with support staff and specialists to develop and implement effective educational plans - Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes learning and development - Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly - Maintain compliance with state education requirements and district policies Qualifications: - Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching License required; multi-categorical licensure preferred - Proven experience with students exhibiting challenging behaviors and/or ASD highly preferred - Strong communication and teamwork skills - Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment Work Schedule: - Full-time, Monday through Friday - Immediate start through May 29, 2026 This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in diverse educational settings while working alongside dedicated professionals.
