Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1 years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school psychologist is needed to support elementary students within the Virginia Beach area during the 2025-2026 academic year. This contract position offers an opportunity to positively impact student learning and development by providing assessment, intervention, and collaboration services within a public school setting. Candidates will be assigned to various schools based on the district's needs, with caseloads focused on elementary-aged children. Key Responsibilities: Administer psychological assessments and testing to identify student needs Attend and actively participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD), reevaluation, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement effective intervention plans Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations Support students in achieving educational and behavioral goals through evidence-based practices Qualifications and Experience: State licensure as a School Psychologist is required Active Department of Education (DOE) certification preferred Open to candidates with 0-10 years of school psychology experience, including new graduates Effective communication and organizational skills Ability to manage caseloads and prioritize responsibilities within an elementary school environment Assignment Details: Location: Virginia Beach area (schools within Chesapeake Public Schools district) Start Date: January 5, 2026 End Date: June 16, 2026 Hours: Typically 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (full-time and part-time candidates considered) Contract position for the school calendar year (CSY) This role is structured to provide comprehensive psychological support specifically tailored for young learners.
