A Special Education teaching opportunity is available for the 2024-2025 school year in West Columbia, SC, serving students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic school district supporting diverse learners with special needs, including resource settings and self-contained classrooms for learning and emotional disabilities. Assignments include: - Elementary positions (7:00 AM 2:30 PM): Resource rooms, Learning Disabilities self-contained, Emotional Disabilities self-contained - Middle school positions (8:00 AM 3:00 PM): Learning Disabilities self-contained, Resource rooms - High school positions (8:00 AM 3:30 PM): COAP self-contained, SET self-contained, Emotional Disabilities self-contained Key responsibilities: - Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with disabilities in compliance with IEP goals and state guidelines - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student growth and behavioral strategies - Manage classroom environments that foster academic achievement and socio-emotional development - Maintain accurate records and documentation for ongoing student progress monitoring Requirements: - Valid Special Education teaching license with Learning Disabilities or Multicategorical Special Education endorsement - Experience working with students in special education programs (elementary through high school) - Strong classroom management and communication skills - Commitment to supporting diverse learners across various grade levels This is a contract position beginning August 7, 2024, through May 28, 2025, with typical hours ranging from 35 to 40 per week. The district provides typical onboarding processes, including fingerprinting and contract review prior to starting. Interviews will be conducted remotely via Teams, and hiring decisions will be communicated within 24-48 hours.
