seeking to provide students of Boeing Pre-Employment Training
(BPET) certified courses with the opportunity to join our 787
production teams working as an Assembly Structures Mechanic in N
orth Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift . Your BPET
Instructor Endorsement Form will outline the specific roles for
which your course qualifies you for a direct offer of employment.

Individuals will be responsible for identifying their work
locations on advanced airplanes, parts, and tooling by interpreting
intricate drawings to accurately complete detailed work
instructions. Attention to detail and procedure compliance is
critical to identify all necessary hand tools, parts, and equipment
required to ensure defect-free work. This position is not just a

Eligibility: This position is exclusively open to students who have
completed Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) certified courses.

Primary Responsibilities: Must have the ability to complete the New
Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required
certifications. Ability to adhere to high standards of safety and
quality. Comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and
Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Ensure your
work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, has First
Pass Quality (FPQ) and is free from FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
Use computers and software applications in a production
environment. Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions,
drawings, and specifications. Wear required protective
clothing/equipment for the task you are performing. Operate various
mechanical lifts (e.g. ladders, scissor lift and aerial lifts). Use
chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints
and finishes. Be able to climb/balance (stairs, ladders, poles,
scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawl/crouch (squat). Work around
energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g.
circuit breakers and wiring) and potential exposure to constant
noise. Read from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents.
Carry/Lift up to 35 pounds. Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head
bent back), handle, kneel, bend at the waist, reach (overhead),
rotate head/neck, stand, twist at the waist and walk. Use of
various structural assembly tools such as Hi-speed and Lo-speed
drills, Pneumatic and electric drills, nut runner and Quakenbush.
Set up and validate jigs and other tooling setup. Perform close
tolerance drilling and installations in critical aircraft
structural areas. Use calibrated precision measuring tools. Perform
various fastener installation/removal tools and techniques. Work
with CFRP, aluminum and titanium for structural drilling, sanding,
trimming and shimming. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of
the listed location options. This position must meet export control
compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance
requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is
required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent
resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/ Experience): Be a student or recent graduate of a Boeing
Pre-Employment Training course that is certified for the BPET
Assembly Structures Mechanic role. Physical demands and
requirements: Ability to work a variable shift. Ability to meet
physical demands of the role such as: flexion/extension (head bent
down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist,
reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at
the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles,
scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).
Ability to carry/lift up to 10-35 pounds. Ability to work with High
Hazard Chemicals. Experience using software applications for
internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other
specialized computer applications. Experience utilizing and
following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting
blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English. Experience in
a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand,
power, and/or pneumatic (air) tools. Experience with structural
parts fabrication, assembly processes and procedures. Drug Free
