- SC Administrative Certificate Add-On (Secondary

school year.GENERAL SUMMARY:Under general supervision provides
visionary leadership and strategic direction for a specialized
educational environment designed to support students in
non-traditional school settings. The Director oversees all aspects
of the school's operations, including curriculum development, staff
supervision and professional development, student support services,
and collaboration with families, referring schools, and community
resources. Ultimately, the Director is responsible for creating and
maintaining a program that empowers students to address concerns,
re-engage with their education, and successfully transition back to
their home schools or pursue alternative pathways to graduation and
post-secondary successESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports and upholds the mission, vision and strategic goals of
Lexington County School District One towards increased outcomes for
students.
- Interacts, communicates and collaborates with all stakeholders
effectively.
- Establishes a safe, supportive, positive and productive working
and learning environment.
- Operates general office and technology equipment needed for
daily activities.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all employee and student
information.
- Participates in all professional meetings and training sessions
as required.
- Requests and maintains materials needed for daily
responsibilities and essential functions; provides for safe storage
and proper use of all tools, equipment and materials.
- Assists in the development of general system policies and
procedures; develops and executes building rules, regulations and
procedures consistent with general system policies.
- Communicates and coordinates a collaborative effort to transfer
students to/from the home school and Alternative Educational
Services.
- Stays abreast of innovative trends and research studies in the
field of at-risk education and interprets their potential
usefulness within the framework of the total school program;
demonstrates lifelong learning.
- Supervises and is responsible for the care and operation of the
North Lake Community Learning Center campus, including all school
buildings, equipment, materials and grounds.
- Executes a program for recruitment, selection, assignment,
orientation and other related personnel activities for the assigned
program.
- Evaluates certified and support personnel in accordance with
state and school board policies and procedures.
- Recommends employment and dismissal of personnel in accordance
with district personnel policies and procedures.
- Ensures effective professional learning for staff.
- Assists in the selection and distribution of all instructional
materials and supplies.
- Demonstrates characteristics such as competence, leadership,
strong work ethics, personal integrity, professional demeanor, etc.
to promote a positive image of the school and district.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of both formative and summative
assessments; analyzes assessment data in relation to student
learning and develops instructional strategies to close the
learning and performance gap.
- Monitors program budgets and manages funds appropriately;
seeks, makes application (when applicable), monitors and evaluates
all federal and state grant funding programs; submits required
reports as necessary.
- Ensures all contractual agreements are approved by appropriate
district personnel before commitments or other forms of obligations
are made.
- Assists in the preparation of various district, state and
federal assessments and reports as required for monitoring and
implementing alternative education programs.
- Assists in the supervision of students in school-sponsored
events, including before and after school activities.
- Plans, organizes and implements the facility's emergency
preparedness plan.
- Effectively uses personal computing devices and software
applications for the management of student records, instructional
efficiency and professional development.
- Performs other job-related duties as assignedSUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITY:Responsible for materials and supplies budget(s) as
assigned.Supervises certified and classified staff members as
assigned.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:Ability to perform duties with
awareness of all district requirements and Lexington County School
District One Board policies.Personal computer experience required.
Strong knowledge of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets,
electronic file management, the internet, and reporting and
presentation software.Ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with students, staff and the school
community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and
written communication. Ability to apply knowledge and current
research and theory. Ability to organize and implement a flexible
work schedule in order to meet reporting deadlines.Ability to
self-monitor and manage multiple tasks while working individually
and with members of a group.Ability to submit all requested reports
and documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with
scheduled deadlines. Some extended hours and multiple demands from
several people are frequently required of the employee. Computer
literacy required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described
