additional fees may be incurred.4 East is a 17-bed mixed acuity
Cardiothoracic Acute Care Unit. 4 East cares for all cardiothoracic
patients both pre and post cardiac and thoracic surgery. These
surgeries include but are not limited to heart transplants, lung
transplants, left ventricular assist devices, coronary artery
bypass grafts (CABGs), valve replacements, lobectomies,
esophagectomies, and thoracotomies. The stepdown patients are
staffed 1:3 while the medical surgical patients are staffed
1:4-1:5Hurricane Season Travelers should be aware that during
hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to
emergency response teams. If this is a problem, please ensure
travelers do not confirm a new or ext assignment during the season.
Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The
peak months for hurricane activity are August and September.
