Job Title: Imaging Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 18 months Shift: Interventional Radiology Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and on-call requirements for afterhours/weekends/holidays Experience: Recent Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures experience required License: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or hold a current compact/multi-state license Certifications: ACLS Certification required, BCLS Certification required Must-Have: BSN preferred or required within five years of hire date Description: To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Constant interaction with internal and external customers, including patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors. On-call requirement includes one weekday per week and every fourth weekend. Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care is essential. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care is required. Familiarity with common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment is necessary. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care is crucial. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions is needed. Skill in preparing and maintaining records and writing reports is required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public is essential. Critical thinking and the ability to analyze situations are important. Effective communication and the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations are necessary. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping are part of the job demands. Frequent lifting and moving of patients is required. Intermittent lifting, moving, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. may occur. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity is needed. Constant reaching with hands and arms is part of the role. Frequent talking or hearing is essential for communication. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range is required. Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue may occur. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases, and other conditions common to a healthcare environment is expected. Intermittent exposure to the risk of blood-borne pathogens is a possibility. A moderate noise level in the work area is present. Work may be required under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. Flexibility to take call and work weekends or holidays may be necessary based on department needs.
