Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of
recent experience in a similar environment; must have successfully

assignments Description: This position involves working in a
stepdown unit for patients requiring post-emergency care. The
nurse-to-patient ratio will be adjusted based on patient acuity.
Travelers are expected to work 2 out of 3 specified holidays. The
environment features an emergency department with 50 beds and
dedicated trauma bays. Patients treat an average of 120 per day
with common diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, and critical
care. Emergency department staff includes physicians, physician
assistants, and nurse practitioners. Charge nurses do not take
patient assignments, ensuring support is available throughout
shifts. Patient care technicians and paramedics assist in providing
care. Respiratory therapy is available on-site 24/7 and responds
promptly to requests. Registered nurses must read their own
telemetry strips and document them appropriately. Imaging services
such as X-ray and CT are available within the department. Nurses
are responsible for drawing labs as phlebotomy services are not
present. Self-scheduling options are available based on
departmental needs. Weekend requirements include at least 6 weekend
shifts within a 6-week schedule. No call or standby requirements
exist for this position. Navy scrubs are required as part of the
dress code. Department-specific orientation will occur during the
