Job Description Summary Hollings Cancer Center Clinic is a busy
adult Oncology clinic that sees a wide variety of oncology
patients. Our clinic team consists of RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and
administrative assistants who work alongside a multidisciplinary
team to deliver quality and safety of care for our patients. Each
clinic workflow varies depending on the clinic, but includes
working as a team that includes: patient triage, in-clinic
procedures, assessments, patient education, medication
administration, CVC line care, obtaining EKG, and care
coordination. Team members work alongside providers (including
physicians, PAs and NPs) during patient clinic visits to provide
the needed care our patients deserve. Other team members that we
work alongside include: Social workers, Pharmacists, and

Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic
Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the
Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to
support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care
and achieve desired outcomes. Assists in examination and treatment
of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews
patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature,
blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs
information to patients' medical record. Prepares treatment rooms
for examination of patients. CMA Minimum Education and
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an
accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care
experience preferred. Must be certified through the American
Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical
Assistants (AAMA) or National Health career Association (NHA) or
MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified
Medical Assistant (CMA), or National Association for Health
Professionals (NAHP). Current American Heart Association (AHA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS
for Healthcare Providers certification is required. LPN Minimum
Requirements: Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program
with six months of patient care experience required. Licensed as an
LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. A
current CPR card is required; either an American Heart Association
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or an
American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card. Ability to
demonstrate commitment to patient centered care philosophy as
evidenced by effective communications skills, professional
demeanor, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability and
motivation to articulate and support departmental philosophy of
excellent guest relations. Must communicate effectively both
verbally and in writing. Must be computer literate. Current
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers

lb. patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of
force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required
from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push
a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is
required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability
to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
(Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or
at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate
between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine
distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
