Provide specialized cardiac care within a progressive Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environment focused on acute cardiology patients. This contract opportunity in Lexington, NC, invites registered nurses proficient in cardiac stepdown nursing to support patient recovery in a well-equipped, academic medical center recognized for its trauma designation and cardiac services. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care for cardiac PCU patients, including those with Acute Coronary Syndrome, Heart Failure, and post-cardiac catheterizations. Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage arrhythmias with confidence. Administer and titrate specialized infusions such as Dobutamine, Nitroglycerine, and Milrinone. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists. Utilize Epic EMR, Philips monitors, and Alaris IV pumps for accurate patient monitoring and documentation. Maintain patient safety by participating in hourly safety rounds and adhering to unit protocols. Desired Qualifications: Valid RN license and at least one year of cardiology or stepdown nursing experience. Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and titration of cardiac-related drips. Comfortable working with telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac strips. Ability to adapt within a floating role across cardiology and med-surg units as needed.
