Provide specialized nursing care in the Operating Room, adhering to established standards and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. Utilize professional nursing knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care effectively. Engage regularly with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments covering physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, and cognitive needs; communicate findings appropriately (20%). Develop and prioritize individualized care plans, monitor patient progress, and adjust interventions to achieve optimal outcomes, involving patients and families in the process (20%). Demonstrate clinical competencies in the operating room area following departmental standards (10%). Assess and address patient and family educational needs, coordinating with other disciplines to ensure successful teaching outcomes (10%). Address ethical issues in patient care respectfully and serve as a resource for ethical decision-making (10%). Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to plan and evaluate patient care (10%). Advocate for patient rights and promote non-judgmental, culturally sensitive care (10%). Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, patient safety, quality initiatives, and identify resources to meet unique patient needs (10%). Desired Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in South Carolina. Experience in operating room nursing preferred. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to handle ethical dilemmas and provide patient-centered care.
