Job Description Summary MUSC Charleston has partnered with Trident Technical College to offer rising high school juniors, seniors, and graduating seniors in the tri-county area a unique opportunity to learn and earn through our Pre-Nursing PCT Youth Apprentice Program. Students will gain hands-on experience at our downtown campus while building a strong foundation for a future in nursing. Students must be willing to commit to the full two-year program, where they will grow academically and professionally in a real healthcare setting. Our goal is to support students in advancing to a Patient Care Technician role and ultimately becoming a Registered Nurse with MUSC. Temporary Cost Center CC004177 CHS - Nursing Excellence Pay Rate Type Hourly Pay Grade Health-01 Scheduled Weekly Hours 6 Work Shift Job Description Hours: A minimum of 12 hours every 2 weeks, not to exceed 36 hours per week. Shifts may be divided into 4-hour, 6-hour or 12-hour pending school schedule. Job Summary: Assist the staff by performing duties under the direction and supervision of healthcare professionals. Minimum Education & Qualifications: Currently enrolled in High School as a Junior or Senior or HS Diploma/GED required. Must be accepted into the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program. Successful completion of CNA and PCT courses, and continued participation in the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship program. Certifications: A current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is not required upon hire, but must be completed within the Trident Technical College Apprenticeship Program scheduled requirements in order to function in the PCT role. A current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification is not required upon hire but must be completed within the Trident Technical College Apprenticeship Program scheduled requirements in order to function in the PCT role.
