Boeing Graduate Researcher program is to invite participants back
for repeated work experience opportunities and offer a full-time
position post PhD graduation.Boeing Research & Technology is

will work with other Boeing engineers in a mentoring and
collaborative mode in order to address research and development
challenges. You are expected to have the ability to analyze and

BR&T positions are available for the 2024 GRP program. When

qualified for.Computational Materials Science (1 position) -
HybridElectromagnetics Engineering / Physics (1 position) - On
SiteMission Systems Engineer / Physics Focus (1 position) - On
SiteOptical/Opto-Mechanical Engineering (1 position) - On SiteRF /
Microwave Engineering (1 position) - On SiteStructures (4
positions) - On SiteSome of these positions are hybrid. This means
that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work
onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring
team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.Some
of these positions are expected to be 100% onsite. The selected
candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed
location options.These positions must meet export control
compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance

positions (Required Skill/Experience): Currently enrolled at an
accredited college or university pursuing a Doctorate degree in
Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a
related field of studyThe ability to work a minimum of 10 weeks (12
weeks preferred) during the summer of 2024Completed first year of
PhD studies by July 2024Computational Materials Science: We are
looking for a PhD candidate in computational materials science or
related fields (e.g. computational chemistry, computational
physics, applied math, etc.) with the ability to analyze diverse
applied mathematical opportunities, including but not limited to
applying computational and numerical methods to business and
engineering applications. The candidate is expected to have the
ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems, grasp
business and engineering challenges, formulate, analyze, interpret
and communicate results to the business and engineering
communities. An ideal candidate will have a passion for applying
computational methods to solve real world materials engineering
problems.Preferred Qualifications:Pursuing a Doctorate degree from
an accredited course of study in computational materials science,
physics, applied math or related fields.Experience with chemical or
materials modeling & simulation software.Experience with planewave
electronic structure methods and knowledge of commercial planewave
codes, e.g., VASP.Knowledge of and experience with kinetic Monte
Carlo (KMC) codes is a plus but not required.Software programming
skills and/or knowledge of at least one programming language such
as Python, C, C++, R, etc.Have a passion for research & development
and a desire to apply mathematics to solve hard industrial
problems.Strong desire to work with technical and non-technical
audiences and be a self-starter.Ability to manage several
simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical
locations.Electromagnetics Engineering: The Boeing Research and
Technology Electromagnetic Effects team is seeking an
Electro-physics Graduate Researcher to support research into
computational methods and test methods for analysis of advanced
materials in the electromagnetic environment to enable the safe use
of novel material systems.Preferred Qualifications:Pursuing a
Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study in physics,
electrical, optical or related engineering field. Focus of research
studies is related to computational implementation of Maxwell's
Equations, plasma physics, ignition physics or related
physics.Experience using typical computer aided design or modeling
(CAD/CAM) tools, experience using EM Computational software (Feko,
CST, EMA3D, etc.) and typical prototyping software languages
(Python, C/C++, MATLAB, etc.) is preferred.Mission Systems Engineer
/ Physics Focus: This position is part of the rapidly growing
Electro-Optical (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) Mission Systems team within
BR&T. We're designing, building, and testing cutting edge
sensor systems for airborne and space platforms. This isn't your
typical Boeing team - we are focused on the entire lifecycle of
design: from modeling and simulation of new ideas, through
prototype demonstrations, and eventually transitioning to
production systems. Our team provides complete engineering
solutions to Boeing and its customers, including systems
engineering, optics design, mechanical design, algorithms, software
development, firmware development, electronics, and advanced system
modeling and simulations. This position will involve working with
advanced system modeling and simulation for space-based systems. If
you're interested in working in a fast pace environment while
taking a design from clean sheet of paper through flight
demonstration, ideally with some technology that's never been flown
before, then this is the group for you.Preferred

Technology team is seeking an RF and microwave circuit design
engineering intern to support phased array antenna design and
analysis for communication, sensor, electronic warfare and
satellite systems. Perform RF and microwave circuit design and
characterization using modeling and simulation tools as well as
laboratory measurements. Develops and validates electromagnetic
requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems,
interconnects and structures. Performs trade studies, modeling,
simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component,
interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around
established requirements. Defines and conducts tests to validate
performance of designs to requirements.Preferred
Qualifications:Experience with RF and microwave circuit
designExperience with electromagnetic analysis and design
toolsPursuing a Doctorate degree from an accredited course of
study, in electrical engineering.Structures: Boeing Research and
Technology (BR&T) is looking for highly capable PhD Engineers
to join our Structures Technology teams. The positions are focused
on discovering, developing, and transitioning innovative structures
technology into Boeing products, focusing on advanced structural
architectures and design concepts. We advance the state of the art
in methods and tools for structural analysis. We accelerate the
qualification and certification of new materials and structures.
Our highly capable engineers excel in a team environment of
challenge and opportunity on multiple projects, and partnering with
Boeing business units, government customers, global suppliers, and
universities to rapidly mature key technologies to production
readiness. Problems of interest include structural design for
extreme environments, advanced composite analysis including impact
simulation, applied topology optimization for generating novel
architectures, developing next generation structural analysis
tools, and multidisciplinary structural analysis including coupled
loads analysis for launch vehicles.Preferred
Qualifications:Experience with engineering and design software such
as MatLab, Finite Element Analysis (Abaqus, LS-Dyna, etc.), COMSOL,
