Job Description:

Our legal team needs a diligent, organized, and experienced Worker's Compensation Paralegal. You will write briefs, create legal documents like affidavits, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and organize case files and other important material. To prepare a factual response to discovery, we need someone with experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records. Responsibilities:

--- Help attorneys create legal pleadings, paperwork, and correspondence, including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notifications, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
--- Order, review, and summarize medical records for preparing factual response to discovery
--- Set up a system of filing for our cases that is well-organized and easy to navigate, and other related admin duties
--- Discuss potential lien, bill, and medical expense settlements with service providers or insurers
--- Give legal assistance at family settlement meetings and mediation so that disputes can be settled without going to court


Qualifications:

--- At least 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting, preferably specializing in personal injury law
--- Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
--- Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) is highly preferred
--- Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor's degree preferred
--- Strong oral and written communication skills
