Description:The VSL will be responsible for the "brownfield" project and have a large part in the success of the weld/machining lines General Description:This position will manage the welding and machining value stream by implementing methods which utilize lean, cost efficient and state-of-the art industrial vehicle manufacturing processes and material handling methods. Develop new best practices for Operations. Direct the machining and fabrication value stream team in the identification and elimination of waste through continuous improvement projects while maintaining Company and Departmental KPI's. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Act as a leader and company representative to set the example for your value stream with regard to all performance related activities
• Drive a lean manufacturing culture by implementing lean initiatives through 6S, Process Mapping, Material Flow, and Continuous Improvement
• Drive PCDA methodology within the value stream
• Maintain a high level of awareness to Safety and 6S throughout the value stream, promoting the prevention of incidents
• Drive an environment that requires a high level of quality through an engrained quality culture mindset
• Responsible for budget planning and achieving targets for CAPEX and operational costs associated with the machining and fabrication value stream
• Responsible for all headcount and capacity planning of your area(s) of responsibility
• Create production reports and establish value stream KPI's, generate reports for managing directors summarizing weekly / monthly goals and targets achieved within your value stream
• Maintain a high level of Productivity and Performance through the Continuous Improvement Process
• Plan and direct daily production goals and targets based on production planning requirements
• Drive cross functional teams in the development of workstation layouts to support lean and efficient manufacturing processes, as well as improved ergonomics for shop floor employees
• Lead teams in problem solving directives and the implementation of corrective actions
• Foster continuous improvement process with leading principles of Quality, Cost, Delivery & Safety
• Drive cost reduction initiatives to meet company goals and production cost targets
• Provide coaching, guidance and direction to all supervisory and VSL positions
• Perform additional duties as assignedAdditional Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical field required, or equivalent years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 8-10 years of progressive working experience
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing industry practices, ideally in a fabrication or machining area
  • Solid knowledge about lean production principles, material flow optimization and continuous improvement processes
  • Knowledge of quality processes such as PPAP, APQP, & ISO standards
  • Project management experience, strong leadership, and communication skills
  • Must work well under pressure in international and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines
