Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Associate Fabrication Specialist (Level B) to join the Emergent Operations Team to support the Machine Shop in North Charleston, South Carolina on 2nd shift! Shift times: 2:00pm -10:30pm.

Candidate selected for this position will be responsible for operating 5 axis CNC machines to fabricate various aluminum, and fiberglass fillers and deburring same. Apply now to be on the best team in Boeing!

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs CNC machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.
• Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
• Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains.
• Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products.
• Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.
• Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.
• Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
• Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
• Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.
• Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift.
  • 1+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a flexible and highly adaptive environment.
  • Being able to lift up to 35 lbs., Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs., Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, walking, standing, balancing, frequent reaching overhead and at or above shoulder, frequent sitting. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
    • 1+ years of CNC experience.
    • Experience in a team environment. Typical Education/Experience:
      
      High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
