Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position is available in the Charleston, SC area, focused on providing on-site support to students. This role plays a vital part in facilitating communication for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) students across elementary, middle, and high school settings. The ideal candidate will assist students by translating spoken language to sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, assemblies, and extracurricular activities. This ensures that DHH students have equitable access to all educational content and school events. Experience supporting 1:1 pediatric students is highly valued.
